Africa trip

this week I leave on a trip to Africa we are going to Rwanda and Ethiopia. I am so excited to have this opportunity to go and serve others. I would ask that you pray for us as we go that we will be able to do the work that God has for us while we are there.
We are going with a group called Visiting Orphans and we will get to do just that visit orphans. While we are an our trip we will go to 7 orphanages. Some that look like cities and others with just a few kids I pray that we will be able to spread Gods love to all of the children that we see. Our group has 20 participants and I know that God has a purpose for each person that is on the trip with us.

What's Up

Have you ever thought about the phrase "what's up"? the truth is we don't it is just one of those things that we glaze over with a "not much" or "kinda tired". I think that maybe we as Christians maybe missing as opportunity here to have a reminder to think about the things of God.

We spend a lot of time focused on what is going on in our lives here on earth which we are concerned about for our own selfish reasons. Maybe we need to start to focus more on the things of God what is it that he has going on and Can I be a part of it.

In the old song "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" there is a line that says "and the things of earth will grow strangely dim" this is true if we turn our eyes to Jesus all the things that we worry about here on earth wont seem so important when we compare it to the things that he would have us do.

The next time you hear someone say "what's up" don't think about whats going on down here on earth think about whats going on up there with your heavenly Father.
